Theodore Von Karman Award for Dr Kasturirangan

Bangalore, Sept 6: Renowned Space Scientist and Member of Rajya Sabha K Kasturirangan has been awarded the most prestigious Theodore Von Karman Award of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA), Paris for 2007.

In a press release issued here today by ISRO, has stated that the award which is one of the highest distinction of the IAA was being given to recongnise the outstanding lifetime achievements to any scientists in any branch of science was given to Dr Kasturirangan in honour of his immense contribution to the Indian space programmes.

The award will be presented to Dr Kasturirangan on September 23 at Hyderabad at the Academy day dinner, during the 58th International Astronatical Congress organised jointly by International Astronautical Federation, IAA and International Institute of Space Law.
