Darfur peace talks set for Oct 27 in Libya

KHARTOUM, Sep 6 (Reuters) Sudan and Darfur rebels will hold peace talks on October 27 in Libya, according to a joint U.N.-Sudan government statement released today.

The statement said the United Nations ''expresses the hope that parties will cooperate fully'' with UN and African Union mediators to ensure negotiations are concluded as expeditiously as possible.
