complaints against ambassador designate to India Shailaja Acharya
Kathmandu, Sep 6 (UNI) At least eleven complaints have been registered to the parliamentary hearing committee, against Nepali Congress leader Sailaja Acharya, who has been recommended for the post of Nepal Ambassador to India.
The complaints against Ms Acharya are related to her support against the spirit and mandate of popular movement of last year as she stood in favour of autocratic regime of King Gyanendra, a local newspaper quoted an official as saying.
Ms Acharya was the vice president of Nepali Congress and deputy Prime Minister during the Nepali Congress government.
She had supported the King's rule saying that the Nepali Congress should not form an alliance with the Communists and remained inactive during the anti King demonstrations across the country where thousands of people came to the streets demanding the end of monarchy in the Himalayan nation.
