Kolkata, Sep 6 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today reiterated that the chemical hub would be set up at Nayachar island of East Midnapore district after seeking the opinion of the environmentalists.

Addressing a rally, organised by the state coordination committee here, Mr Bhattacharjee said, '' Job opportunities throughout the country are on the wane, and we want industrialisation to create more job opportunities. But Opposition parties like the Trinamool Congress and the BJP are opposed to industrialisation in the state.'' '' We have already discussed with the scientists and environmentalists about the setting up of the chemical hub, and if any problem arises, the government will not go ahead with the proposed industry there, '' he stated.

'' We have some moral responsibility for those who have lost their lands for the Tata's small car factory project at Singur, but it would be set up there positively, '' he assured.

The Opposition was trying to oppose the industrialisation policy in the state, but they would not succeed, the Chief Minister said.

He also said, '' We will not move to Nandigram for setting up the chemical hub because the people do not want it and if anybody does not want development, why we will provide benefit to them forcefully he asked.

The ruling Left Front's trade wing state coordination committee organised a rally for their 15-point charter of demands.
