TN: Case on DPI leader for violation of siren rules

Chennai, Sep 6: Police have registered a case against Dalit Panthers of India (DPI) General Secretary Thol Thirumavalavan for alleged violation of ''siren'' rules on September four.

Police sources said he had fixed the ''red colour siren'' on his car, in violation of rules, while proceeding to Aarni taluk near Vellore for participating in a protest demonstration.

A notice would be issued today seeking an explanation from him in this regard, the sources said.
