Britain link is suspected in Germany massacre

London, Sep 6 (UNI) The terror suspects arrested for planning huge terror strikes and cause a massacre in Germany had links in Britain.

The MI5 and other security agencies are now intensively trying to identify Britons who could have gone to Pakistan with the three German suspects for training in Jihadi camps there, which are reportedly run by the Taliban.

Officers from Scotland Yard flew to Germany yesterday to assist the investigation. They would examine possible links of the terrorists and the Islamist Jihadi Union there with the people and groups in the UK. The detectives suspect close interaction between the Al-Qaeda masterminds who directed the arrested three in German and the suspects here.

Media reports said that a number of calls were made by mobiles linked to two of the suspects under arrest to numbers in this country. One number is said be "known" and had been under "surveillance". The calls could have been for tips on making bombs similar to those used by the four suicide bombers who caused carnage on three tube trains and a double-decker bus in London on July 7 killing 52 commuters.

Al-qaeda and jihadis in Pakistan were known to have trained Britons on how to use hydrogen peroxide at camps in Pakistan.

Hydrogen peroxide as revealed by German investigators was also collected by the three arrested suspects. It was used twice as one of the components by Al-Qaeda linked bombers here.

The four Islamic fundamentalists who failed to cause a bloody carnage on July 21, two weeks after the 7/7 because their rucksack bombs failed to explode had also used hydrogen peroxide to make the bombs they were carrying.

The Islamist Jihadi Union has very negligible base in Britain according to sources but it is on the proscribed terrorist groups list. A Home Office source said that so far it was not suspected that the IJU used Britain as a base for recruitment or for raising funds.
