'Biscuit bandits' dupe 1 in Ernakulam-Patna Exp


Chennai, Sep 06: After lying low for a while, the elusive biscuit bandits struck again, this time targetting an Orissa-bound passenger of Ernakulam-Patna Express.

Rs 30,000 was missing from him and the whereabouts of his brother was not known, said Babu, the duped passenger.

Babu alias Ooth Bagathkar Das of Orissa was found in an unconscious state at the Jolarpettai railway station, about 150 km from here, and Government Railway Police admitted him to the Tirupattur Government hospital, police sources said.

Babu, who regained consciousness last evening, told the police that he and his brother boarded the train on September 4 and two people, travelling with them, befriended them and offered biscuits after which he fell unconscious.

Police have registerd a case and investigations are on.
