AP to file affidavit in SC on life convicts' sentence remission

Hyderabad, Sep 6 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh government will file an affidavit in the Supreme Court in a couple of days in the case relating to guidelines evolved by the state government for remission of sentence for life convicts, Home Minister K Jana Reddy said today.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said two officers were being sent to New Delhi for the purpose.

The release of life convicts, shortlisted for grant of remission on the occasion of Independence day, was held up after the apex court sought clarifications on the guidelines.
