A Chinese merchant ship caught in Arabian sea
Mangalore, Sept 6 (UNI) A Chinese merchant ship carrying iron ore was caught in the Arabian sea, about 7 nautical miles way from New Mangalore Port today and all the crew members are safe.
According to NMPT sources, the ship with 29 crew members was carrying iron ore was imbalanced in the sea. However, there was no danger of drifting or capsizing. All the crew members and the ship was safe, the sources said.
Meanwhile, a top official from Indian Coast Guard (ICG) told UNI that a helicopter from Goa had been summoned as standby for using in rescue operation if needed.
