76 judicial, other inquiries ordered in J&K since 2002
Srinagar, Sep 6 (UNI) As many as 76 judicial, magisterial or administrative inquiries have been ordered in Jammu and Kashmir since 2002, officials said today.
While 12 probes were ordered in 2005, the number was seven in 2006, they added.
The officials said two inquiries were ordered in Doda district in 2005 while the number stood at three in 2006.
It was one each in Udhampur, Pulwama, Ganderbal, Badgam, Kulgam and Rajouri districts in 2005.
One each probe was ordered in Jammu, Srinagar, Baramulla and Kupwara in both 2005 and 2006, they added.
The officials said 57 judicial commissions and magisterial inquiries have been ordered in the cases of human rights violations in the state since 2002.
In 2002, two such probes were ordered followed by 16 in 2003, 14 in 2004, 11 in 2005, 6 in 2006 and 8 in 2007 so far, they added.
The officials said reports have been received in 29 cases and action taken against violators in 15 cases.
In the remaining 14 cases, no action have been recommended by the authorities concerned, they added.
