Siddaramaiah demands White Paper on various projects

Mysore, Sep 4 (UNI) Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah today demanded White Paper on various projects taken up recently by the JD(s) and BJP coalition government in the State.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that since last one month the State government had organised massive programmes for taking up various projects worth crores of rupees across the state.

The government should come out with clarifications whether the projects had administrative approval. It was necessary that the people of the State should know the facts and should not misguided on the projects.

Mr Siddaramaiah alleged that the government has been using the programmes for party platform to criticise the opposition parties.

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy utilised the platform to criticise him (Mr Siddaramaiah) only. He alleged that without mobalising needed resources the government has been announcing the programmes and projects worth of Rs 3000 crores.

He also alleged that the Coalition government has been claiming the achievements on various projects which was sanctioned under Centre sponsored Jawaharalal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).

Referring to ban on sale of arrack in the state, he said the life of the people, particularly in rural areas, has not improved since those who have been earning daily wages at least 50 per cent would have gone to their family members but now, the entire amount was spent on costly drinks .

Pointing out that in July month the sale of Indian made foreign liquor has crossed 26 lakhs cases from 13 lakhs, it indicated that how much the people have shifted to new brands by paying double the money. He added.
