Rupee opens slightly up at 40.86/88 per Dollar

Mumbai, Sep 4: Rupee opened at 40.86/88 per Dollar, slightly up from its previous close of 40.88/89.

The unit has been found hovering in a tight range of 40.85-88 in the past two days and is likely to remain steady in the approaching sessions also.

According to market sources, market stood quiet today as it has been in the past few consecutive sessions with not much activity from the participants.

During the intra-day, it touched a low of 40.93, nearly seven Paise down from the opening level and is currently (1145 hrs) trading at 40.90/91 per Dollar, said a dealer with the Development Credit Bank.
