Quick Response Team set up in Gorakhpur
Gorakhpur, Sep 4 (UNI) Gorakhpur city police today set up a 'Quick Response Team' in view of the recent violence that engulfed Allahabad and Agra.
''The team includes circle officers and station in charges and would be led by Police Superintendent (city),'' Senior Superintendent of Police of the city Rajesh Kumar Rai said here.
The team would have the power to take action against the attacks in police station areas.
Curfew was clamped in Allahabad city after a rumour that some pages of a holy book were being burnt, while it was imposed in Agra after the death of four youth in road accident.
Few months back, curfew was also imposed in a Gorakhpur after violence had erupted in a Moharram procession.
