One killed, 4 wounded over land dispute

Sultanpur, Sep 4 (UNI) A youth was bludgeoned to death, while another four were severely wounded over a fierce land dispute in Jai Singhpur area here today.

A dispute snowballed into a full-fledged clash at Ayupur village, where gram pradhan Avadh Narayan and his sons attacked Vivek Kumar Verma (22), a rice mill owner, with batons injuring him fatally.

Hearing the shrieks, when victims family reached the spot, the accused brutally assaulted them.

While Vivek succumbed to his injuries, his family was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against nine people, including Avadh Narayan and his sons.

Two of the accused have been arrested, while a hunt was on to nab the others.
