Dhumakot's win reflects govt's good performance: Khanduri

Dehradun, Sept 4 (UNI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri, expressing gratitude to BJP workers and public for ensuring victory in the Dhumakot, today said the by-poll result was a reflection of his government's good governance during its six month tenure.

Maj Gen Khanduri, addressing the public and party workers here, said the extension of public infrastructure, better management of development projects and fulfilling assurances made in election manifesto would be his priorities. He said the Dhumakot win was people's victory as by giving mandate in his favour, they had expressed faith on the party's policies.

He said that steps would be taken to ensure prosperity in the state with the support of public and their representatives.

Maj Gen Khanduri added that Dhumakot would be connected by the National highways and the area would be made a model constituency.

''Central government will be approached for assistance in this regard,'' he said.

Earlier Maj Gen Khanduri was accorded a warm welcome with garlands by senior party leaders on his arrival to Dehradun Railway Station from New Delhi at 0805 hrs. Prominent among them including Health Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ''Nishank'', MLAs Gopal Rawat, Prem Chandra Aggarwal and Ganesh Joshi, State General Secretary Ajay Bhatt and office bearers of various BJP units. Scores of people also thronged his residence to greet him.
