Cong will disappear with inception of second SRC: Narendra
Hyderabad. Sep 4 (UNI) Former Union Minister and MP A Narendra today warned the Congress that it would ''lose its very existence'' in Andhra Pradesh if the UPA government constituted second States Reorganisation Commission (SRC) to address the issue of separate statehood to Telangana region.
Addressing a gathering, at the party office on his 65th birthday, the former TRS leader, who was dismissed from the party by its Chief K Chandrasekhara Rao for his alleged involvement in the fake passport scam, said he was holding discussions with the BSP leadership on working together.
However, he would take a final decision only after BSP Chief Mayawati made her stand on Telangana clear.
Mr Narendra criticised AICC General Secretary in-charge of AP affairs Digvijay Singh for stating that the second SRC was not exclusively for deciding on Telangana. He had reminded the Congress that it had promised statehood to the region in its 2004 election manifesto and demanded that the promise be fulfilled before the next general elections.
Mr Narendra, who had established TRS (N) after falling out with Mr Chandrasekhara Rao for achieving Telangana state, said forming a third front in the state was impossible and the reports about an alliance between the CPI and the TRS were just a rumour.
