Statement of MP recorded in Minister murder case

Patna, Sep 3 (UNI) A local court today recorded the statement of MP Surajbhan Singh and MLA Vijay Kumar Shukla, accused in the murder case of a former Minister of Bihar.

The statement was recorded by Additional District and Sessions judge of Patna S P N Singh.

Answering the questions of the court, Mr Singh and Mr Shukla denied their complicity in the murder of former Minister.

Mr Singh and Mr Shukla were among the ten accused facing the trial.

Former Minister of Science and Techonology department of Bihar Brij Bihari Prasad was shot dead in the premises of Indira Gandhi Institute of Patna on June 13,1998.

Earlier, CBI had closed its evidence in the case after producing 62 witnesses.

The court fixed September 5, 2007, the date for evidence to be produced by the accused in their defence.
