Rs one crore morphine seized in UP capital, 2 held

Lucknow, Sep 3 (UNI) The Crime Branch team of police today unearthed a smuggling syndicate in Gomti Nagar area of the Uttar Pradesh capital with the arrest of two persons possessing morphine, estimated at Rs one crore in the international market.

Acting on a tip-off, cops reached near the Gomti Nagar Barrage and nabbed Abdul and Zakir Ali.

On being frisked, one kg morphine was recovered from their possession.

Their interrogation was on, police said.
