Record hundi collection at Tirumala

Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 3 (UNI)For the first time in its history, the Sri Venkateswara Temple here netted Rs 2.20 crore in hundi collection in a single day today.

The amount excluded coins and ornaments donated by pilgrims from across the world. The second highest was the over Rs two crore registered during 'Vaikunta Ekadasi' last year, a TTD official said.

In the last three days, the temple had been recording high collections of more than Rs one crore a day, he added.
