Monsoon was active over the State
Bangalore, Sep 3 (UNI) Following is the summary of observations recorded in weather office here at 0830 hrs today.
Monsoon was vigorous over South Interior Karnataka and active over Coastal Karnataka Rainfall occurred at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.
Kumta recorded very heavy rainfall of 13 cm. Other heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Shirali, Bhagamandala 12 each, Ankola, Agumbe 11 each, Kota, Bhatkal, Honavar 10 each, Sulya 9, Belthangadi, Bantwal, Mangalore, Puttur Subramanya, Karwar 8 each. Mudibidre, Dharmasthala Karkala, Kundapur, Shorapur, Virajpet 7 each.
Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Mulki, Mani, Panambur, Siddapura, Udupi 6 each, Gulbarga Napoklu, Ponampet, Kalasa, Kottigehara, Kammardi 6 each, Mangalore AP, Koppa 5 each, Sirsi, Siddapura, Linganamakki, Sringeri 4 each.
Forecast valid until Wednesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at many places over Interior Karnataka.
Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada districts, at many places over Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Shimoga, Hassan districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over remaining districts of Interior Karnataka.
Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy to very heavy rain may occur at a few places over Coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours. Heavy rain may also occur at isolated places over ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during the same period.
Local forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy with a spell of rain/thundershowers.
