LDF's wrong Abkari policy led to tragedy: Chandy
Palakkad, Sep 3 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in Kerala Assembly Oommen Chandy today said the recent liquor tragedy at Avaneeshwaram in Kollam, which resulted in the death of three persons, was due to the wrong excise Policy of the Left Democratic Front Government.
Addressing newsmen here, he asked the government to make public the post-mortem and blood test reports of the victims of the incident which occurred on August 28.
He said as many as 1,650 shops were allotted without increasing toddy production. This resulted in the flow of spurious liquor.
Mr Chandy also said Excise Minister P K Gurudasan's statement that the victims dided due to excess consumption could not be justified.
