Tripura jawans suspended in rifle missing case

Agartala, Sept 3: Tripura government has suspended four State Rifles jawans of 9th battalion today, and arrested two in connection with the missing of an AK-47 Rifles on Saturday from remote Takmacherra TSR post in South Tripura.

Police said a miscreant had stolen an AK 47 Rifle, one magazine and 30 rounds of live ammunition at night when Naik Ram Prasad Nokerer, the user of the rifle, was sleeping.

Nokerer found it missing in the morning, police said and added that TSR did not bring it to the notice of police the whole day. A case was registered only in the evening by the TSR 9th Battalion Commandant.
