Five booked in newly married death case

Fatehgarh Sahib, Sept 3 (UNI) The Fatehgarh Sahib police has registered a case against in-laws of a newly married woman, who died under mysterious circumstances here.

Police has booked the deceased woman's father-in-law Amarjit Singh, mother in-law Surjit Kaur, sisters-in-law Gurdeep Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur and husband Jatinderpal Singh.

As per the relatives of the deceased, village Landran(SAS Nager) resident Bhag Singh's 24-year-old daughter Parminder Kaur was married to Jatinderpal Singh, a resident of Mohalla Jattpura in Sirhind two years ago.

They alleged that her in-laws used to harass her to bring dowry.

They said that earlier a compromise was also reached between both the families to settle the issue.

However, recently after Parminder's brother received a car in dowry, Parminder's in-laws began to pressurise her to demand a car from her parents.

They said they got a phone call on Saturday that Parminder was seriously ill but when they reached at her Sirhind residence they found Parminder lying dead on bed with scratches on her neck.

The post mortem of the deceased was conducted by a Board of Doctors of Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib and later body was handed over to the relatives of the deceased.

The police was investigating the case.
