DMDK to forge alliances for LS Polls: Ramachandran

Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu, Sep 3 (UNI) The Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam (DMDK) will forge an alliance with like-minded parties in the coming Lok Sabha elections and is ready to face mid-term general elections, Presidium Chairman Panruti S Ramachandran today said.

Here in connection with reviewing arrangements for the party's third anniversary conference, scheduled to be held on September 14, Mr Ramachandran told newsmen from the date of inception the party had contested five elections and performed well.

Asked whether there were any chances of foring alliance in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in the future, he said it would be decided at the appropriate time. Party Founder-Leader Vijayakanth would take a suitable decision on the issue.

He came down heavily on the DMK Government in Tamil Nadu and said its rule was ''so bad'' that the Communists, PMK and other alliance parties were often opposing its the functioning.

To a question on whether the DMK Government would complete its full term, Mr Ramachandran said Chief Minister Karunanidhi would have to give the reply.
