CPI(M) undertakes 'Padayatra' in backward old city
Hyderabad, Sep 3 (UNI) The CPI (M) today undertook a 'Padayatra' in the backward old Hyderabad city to study the problems of the people living there.
Participating in the march along with MP Madhu, the party's state unit secretary and politbureau member B V Raghavulu alleged that the callous attitude of the Congress government was responsible for the backwardness of the area.
He also claimed that Muslims living in the area were denied the fruits of development.
The CPI(M) leaders said though the Sachar Committee report, pointedly mentioned about the backwardness of the old city, it was surprising that there was no response from the government.
Heavy security arrangements were made for the 'Padayatra' in view of the recent bomb blasts in the city.
