13 people killed in road accident in AP
Hyderabad, Sep 3: Thirteen people were killed and ten others injured in two road accidents at Medak and Khammam districts of Andhra Pradesh, today.
Police said seven people were killed and six seriously injured when a van, in which they were travelling, collided head-on with a lorry near Jeedipally village at Medak district. The van was on its way to Basara from Hyderabad when the mishap occurred.
While four people died on the spot, three others succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital. All the victims belonged to Jambagh area here, police said.
In the an other incident, six labourers were killed and four others injured when the lorry, in which they were travelling, overturned near Kottalankapalli village at Khammam district.
The driver of the cement-laden lorry lost control of the vehicle and hit an electric pole. The lorry was proceeding to Visakhapatnam from Jaggaiahpet at Krishna district when the mishap occurred, police said.
