Bhopal, Sep 2 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti President Uma Bharti today said she would not seek apology for the demolition of disputed structure at Babri mosque in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992, even is she is hanged.

Ms Bharti, while addressing 'Meet the Press' programme here, claimed that she had no role in the demolition of the disputed structure. However, she had raised feelings of people in this regard.

Referring to her statement made before the Liberhan Commission in this regard, Ms Bharti, who was then a BJP leader, said she was in favour of pulling down the structure and was firm on this regard even today.

Pointing out that she wished that Ram temple be built in Ayodhya, the sadhvi said she would continue to keep working in this direction.

The firebrand leader said she would never leave Hindutva even if BJP leaders discarded it.

Asserting that Hindutva was not an issue but a matter of faith, she said Hindutva was not a religion but a way of life that has been described by the Supreme Court.

Commenting upon senior BJP leader L K Advani's statement during his Pakistan visit that pulling down of the structure was the saddest day of his life, the BJS leader alleged that Mr Advani was quite perturbed after the incident because a major issue had slipped out of the BJP's hand.

She claimed that the BJP would lose its existence if Ram temple comes up in Ayodhya with the support of Muslims in the country.
