The district administration has deployed additional paramilitary and police forces to prevent any untoward incident with alert having been sounded after the August 25 twin blasts at Hyderabad that killed over 40 people.
Intelligence reports had earlier stated that terror outfits were planning to target religious sites in the country.
An extra 1,400 paramilitary personnel have been deployed in the town in addition to the Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF), police officials said.
Police personnel and bomb detection squads have been deployed at railway stations and bus stands.
Intensive checks are being carried out at sensitive areas. Alongside, a sanitation drive has also been launched.
The police are maintaining a strict vigil with the town being divided into four sectors.
About eight hundred thousand people are expected to visit the town on the occasion of Janmashtami.
