Hyd twin blasts: 'Main accused' held in Bangladesh

Hyderabad, Sep 2 (UNI) In a major breakthrough in the August 25 twin blasts here, which claimed 45 lives, one of the main accused was arrested in Bangladesh today.

According to Intelligence sources here, Abu Hamza, one of the suspect in the blasts, was arrested by the Bangladesh police.

He was also suspected to be involved in the May 18 Mecca Masjid and Task force bomb blasts.

Police suspect that Hamza along with the alleged mastermind behind the recent blasts Shahed alias Bilal had sent 10 kg RDX to the city in February 2007 to trigger the blasts.

However the Special Investigation Team (SIT), Probing the twin blasts, were in touch with the central Intelligence Agencies to confirm Hamza's ivolvement in the blasts.

No official was ready to divulge any details of the arrest.

Police registered cases against 15 people including Hamza under section 123 of IPC for conspiring to resort to terror activities in the state, yesterday.
