Heroin worth Rs 1.5 crore seized, 2 held
Varanasi, Sep 2 (UNI) Police in neighouring Chandauli district today arrested two drug peddlars from Mughalsarai railway station and seized heroin valued at Rs 1.5 crore in international market.
On being tipped off, Dinesh Gupta and Hasim, both residents of Badayun district of West Uttar Pradesh were held outside the railway station and 1.5 kg heroin was seized from their possession, Police Superintendent (Chandauli) Pravin Kumar told UNI here.
The two drug peddlars who were arrested after detraining from Ranchi-Varanasi Intercity Express were carrying the narcotic consignment from Bihar to West UP.
The SP announced a cash reward of Rs 2,500 for the police team that accomplished the major catch.
