GSLV-F04 launch delayed by 110 min


Sriharikota, AP, Sep 2: GSLV rocket launched from Sriharikota after a delay of 110 munutes because of a technical hitch.

The launch of GSLV-F04, the fifth flight of the Geo-Synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV), was delayed by 110 minutes today following a technical hitch.

The countdown for the lift off at 1621 hrs had progressed smoothly but it was stopped 15 seconds before the lift off.

Following the hitch, the countdown clock was reset thrice.

Initially scientists at the Mission Control Centre here put the launch on hold by 50 minutes. Eighteen minutes later the countdown clock was reset again by 55 minutes before fixing the launch time at 1810 hrs, a delay of 110 minutes.

Officials said some of the parameters associated with the launch vehicle were not properly functioning and the launch was stopped 15 seconds from its lift off.
