Youth Congress leader suspended from party
Puducherry, Sep 1 (UNI) The Youth Congress today suspended a local unit general secretary for anti-party activities.
According to Youth Congress President Pandiyan, Mr Santhakumar was suspended from the primary membership of the party for six years, owning him responsible for the violence in the recent party meeting here.
During the party meeting, which was attended by All India Youth Congress President Ashok Tanvar, it was alleged that the followers of Mr Santhakumar had unleashed violence and ransacked the marriage hall, where the meeeting was on.
Following the incident, Mr Pandiyan on direction from the highcommand issued a show cause notice to Mr Santhakumar.
As Mr Santhakumar's reply was found unsatisfactory, Mr Tanvar directed Mr Pandiyan to suspend him from the party.
