Traders down shutters in protest against murder
Itanagar, Sep 1 (UNI) The traders of the Capital Complex here today kept all business establishments closed to protest the kidnap and murder of Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) Legal Advisor Paras Dugar.
The business community condemned Mr Dugar's murder in a condolence meeting attended by ACCI president Techi Lala, vice-president Dominic Tadar and general secretary Tarak Nachung, among others.
The ACCI leaders castigated the traders for their ''lackadaisical attitude'' towards the trader bodies and submitting to the demands of extortionists.
''We are to be blamed for our divisive attitude and not cooperating with the police in such cases. If we do not take a lesson from this ghastly incident, realise and rectify our lapses, such problems would continue to haunt the traders in times to come,'' the ACCI leaders said.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Hibu Tamang said police had launched operations to nab Mr Dugar's murderers but were unsuccessful so far.
