Guntur, Sep 1 (UNI) AICC president and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi today asserted that acts of terrorism would not hamper the efforts of the Congress-led government to usher in all round development of the country.

Addressing an impressive public meeting here, a week after the twin bomb blasts in Hyderabad, which left more than 40 people dead, she said, ''we will not be cowed down by the mindless and inhuman activities of the terrorists and other elements inimical to peace in the country.'' Condemning the blasts, she said terrorists and other elements, who did not want India to remain united and were against the progress of the nation, were resorting to such mindless and inhuman activities to rip the country apart.

She said everyone should stand united and work towards strengthening the nation to thwart the sinister plans of such people.

Praising Ms Gandhi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said she wanted to come to the state on Sunday, a day after the blast, but he urged her not to come as it would give unnecessary publicity to the terrorists, whose sole aim was to get dubious attention.
