Special railway line for freight trains:Lalu
Dehri-On-Son, Sept 1 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today announced construction of special railway lines from Delhi to Howrah for hassle-free transportation of goods and plying of freight trains.
After flagging off passenger trains between Dehri-On-Sone and Patna, Mr Prasad said here that big industries would be set up all along the special railway lines under Industrial corridor project.
He said the special railway lines to be constructed under freight corridor would boost pace of industrialisation and open new avenues for the unemployed people in the country.
Mr Prasad stated that the railways would utilise its land for setting up industries related to railways and other sectors.
Factories of railway wagons and other related industries would be set up in Dalmianagar industrial area and the railways had already sanctioned funds for the purpose.
He also announced to set up a power plant of 1000 MW capacity in Navinagar of Aurangabad district in joint collaboration of NTPC and railways and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would lay the foundation of both the projects.
The Minister said that the construction of railway bridge in between Dehri and Sonenagar on river Sone would be completed by March 2009.
