Rajpal Yadav, Reshmi Ghosh win Diamond Glamour awards

Mumbai, Aug 31 (UNI) Rajpal Yadav, Reshmi Ghosh, Shravan Rathod of the Nadeem-Shravan fame, Bollywood lyricist Sameer, ex-cricketer Pravin Amre, journalist Gita Hari won the Diamond Glamour awards for their special contribution to their respective fields.

Diamond Glamour, the well known trade magazine, celebrated its 2nd glamour awards nite at Birla Matoshri here last night. The awards, constituted by the magzine's editor Hardik Hundiya, were presented to special achievers in the fields of politics, acting, sports, comedy, journalism, architecture and jewellery.

The award ceremony was graced by special guests like Ujjwal Nikam (Public prosecutor), Dr Vallabh Kathiriya and Raj Purohit MLA among others.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Hundiya said ''These awards were constituted to recognise excellence in varied fields. The awards are categorised as Raj Ratna award, Kala Ratna award, Khel Ratna award Jivdaya Ratna award, Patrakar Ratna award, Hasya Ratna award, Builder Ratna Award and Diamond Ratna award.

''This is the second year of the awards and we plan to envelop many more sections of the society in the near future,'' he said.

Of the 33 recipients of the awards, a few of them are Niranjan Hiranandani who won the Diamond Glamour's Builder Ratna award, Jay Prakash won the Diamond Glamour Patrakar Ratna award, Bina Chheda won the Diamond Glamour Vastu Ratna award, T K Diwedi won the Diamond Glamour Patrakar Ratna award, Mrs B Vaidehi Sachin won the Diamond Glamour Sahitya Kala Ratna award, Sanjay Shah won the Diamond Glamour Public Relations Ratna award, Jawahar Nadar won the Diamond Glamour Patrakar Ratna award, Ashwin Sheth won the Diamond Glamour Best Real Estate agent award, Baby Asshas won Diamond Glamour Best Acting Ratna award, C K Patel won the Diamond Glamour Gaurav Ratna award.

The awards nite was marked by a hilarious Hasya Kavi sammelan by eminent stage performers from all across India like Gaurav Sharma, Savitri Kocchar, Albela Khatri of the Laughter Challenge fame, Ghanshyam Agarwal, Shashikant Jadhav and Vinu Mahendra to name a few.
