Over 3.26 lakh pilgrims visit Shiv Khori Shrine
Jammu, Sep 1 (UNI) Over 3.26 lakh pilgrims from here and various parts of the country have visited Shiv Khori, the third most crowded shrine after Vaishno Devi and Shri Amanath, during the first eight months and paid obeisance to the holy shrine.
As many as 2.61 lakh pilgrims had visited the holy cave shrine in the past few years, Deputy Commissioner of Reasi Sanjeev Verma, who is also the chairman of Shiv Khori Shrine Board, said today.
Mr Verma said in view of its religious importance and sanctity, the historic Shiv Khori Shrine Cave in village Ransoo of block Pouni in the Reasi district is witnessing huge rush of pilgrims these days.
With the concerned efforts of the Shiv Khori Shrine Board, the rush of pilgrims is increasing everyeday and the board is making an all-out effort to provide more and more facilities to the visiting pilgrims, he said.
Various development projects have also been taken in hand and, on completion, more facilities would also be available for the devotees in the near future.
The tourism department is also making its efforts to develop this area as a good tourist spot. A Tourism Reception Centre already exists at village Ransoo for the facilities of visiting devotees.
