Nine players booked for attacking rival team

Fatehgarh Sahib, Sept 1 (UNI) Bassi Pathana police has registered a case against nine players for assaulting others players of the rival team at Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Bassi Pathana during the zonal level sports tournament.

As per information, during the volleyball match the team of Badali Aala Singh defeated the team of GSSS, Bassi Pathana but some players of Bassi Pathana team attacked with stones on the players of other team.

Badali Aala Singh team players, Manjit Singh, Ramandeep Singh and Manga Singh who are admitted in the Civil Hospital, Bassi Pathana for treatment said that when they had gone to drink water after winning the match, the players of other team attacked on them with stone and fled from the scene.

The police had registered a case against six identified persons and three unidentified persons. The police had arrested Mandeep, Vicky and Seepa so far while Bikramjit, Banty, Sunny and three other unidentified persons are still at large.
