Mutilated heads of beheaded tribals recovered

Balasore, Sep 1 (UNI) Police today recovered the mutilated heads of four tribals, who were hacked to death and then beheaded by the villagers on August 26 was suspected them of practising sorcery.

Based on the confession of the prime accused in the case who was arrested along with three others, police searched the Sono riverbed and retrieved the four heads sealed in a gunny bag.

Police had earlier recovered the headless bodies from the river at various points.

Meanwhile, police today arrested another prime accused Haduram Singh, a village sorcerer, who had told the villagers that the death of Raju Singh (17), son of ward member Siba Singh in snake bite, was an act of witchcraft by the victims .

The four tribals, three of them women, were brutally beheaded after a village committee pronounced the judgment accusing the tribals of practising black magic that led to the death of the boy.
