Locals disrupt coal production in ECL mine
Godda, Sep 1 (UNI) Demanding adequate supply of power and water in Lalmatia area, local people disrupted the coal production work at the Eastern Coal Field's (ECL) Rajmahal Colliery project in the district today.
Official sources here said the locals entered the mines and prepared food to mark their protest.
The people halted the production work as their demand of providing power and water was not entertained by the authorities, sources added.
Meanwhile, the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the ECL was camping in the area.
The coal produced from the mines are supplied to the thermal plants - National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) - located in Farraka and Kahalgaon.
