J'khand CM advocates implementation of NREGA
Dumka, Sep 1 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today asserted that proper implementation of National Rural Employment Gurantee Act(NREGA) in rural areas would bring development.
Distributing appointment letters to 81 ''Gram Rozgar Sevaks'' and 1,796 Aanganbari Sevika and assistants recruited in all six districts of the Santhal Pargana division, Mr Koda said now people living in rural areas could develop their areas as per their needs with the help of NREGA.
Mr Koda said implementation of NREGA would also check migration of tribals from rural areas.
He said a committee had been formed to evaluate the losses due to natural calamities in the districts like Pakur, Sahebganj, Godda and Palamu.
Speaking about the contributions made by JMM president Sibu Soren in Jharkhand movement, he said Jharkhand as a separate state was possile only because of Mr Soren's struggle.
Others present in the programme were JMM supremo Sibu Soren, Congress MP Furkan Ansari and RJD MLA Uday Shankar Singh.
