HUJI leader behind Hyd blasts; 4 arrested
Hyderabad, Sep 1 (UNI) The Special Investigation Team (SIT) today arrested four persons in connection with the recent bomb blasts that rocked the city on August 25, and booked cases against Harkat-Ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) leader Shahed alias Bilal, one of the alleged masterminds behind the blasts.
The arrested included two persons who were already taken into custody as suspects. However, police did not disclose the names of the arrested.
Police said the arrests were effected after one of the suspects told the police that the group brought nearly ten kg of RDX to Hyderabad from Bangladesh in February.
Police have booked cases against 15 people, including Bilal, on the charge of conspiring to carry out terrorist activities by triggering blasts in the city.
Bilal, operating from Bangladesh by recruiting poor youth for 'Jihad', was also working for banned international terrorist organisations Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
More than 20 people were working as the agents of HUJI and other terrorist outfits in the city after Bilal established good contacts in the city.
