Gurudakshina scheme to be launched on Sep 5

Kottayam, Sep 1 (UNI) D C Books is introducing a novel 'Gurudakshina' scheme as part of 'Teachers Day' celebrations in Kerala to propagate classroom library system.

At a press conference here today, Ravi D C said the ultimate aim of the scheme was to propagate open library system in all classrooms. Under the scheme, students could donate books to their teachers as Gurudakshina. Books purchased under the scheme from September five to October 23 would get a special discount of 25 and 10 per cent for Malayalam and English books respectively.

Education Minister M A Baby would conduct the state-level inauguration of the scheme at a function to be held at Thiruvananthapuram Carmel Girls Higher Secondary School on September five.
