Cong condemns royalty hike in house building materials

Jaipur, Sep 1 (UNI) State Congress will oppose the recently imposed 50 to 52.5 per cent hike in royalty on house building materials like marble and property tax on houses.

Stating this at a press conference today, state Congress chief B D Kalla said the increased royalty on house building materials would make building a house out of the reach of poor people.

He said Makrana, the town famous for its marble, observed a shutdown today in protest against increase on royalty from 50 to 52.5 per cent.

He said more such affected areas would hold protests and shutdowns consequently.
