Itanagar, Sep 01 (UNI) The BJP's Arunachal Pradesh unit has criticised the state government for constant power failure in the capital.

Life was affected following the breakdown of one of the two transformers in the Chandranagar power sub-station since the last couple of days, the opposition party alleged.

Flaying the Dorjee Khandu-led Congress government, the BJP accused it of being insensitive to the people's grievances on basic amenities. It suggested that the power scenario could be improved by replacing existing conductor wires and setting up of additional sub-station for controlling and distribution of power supply to meet the growing demand.

Lambasting the government on other common amenities like lack of proper road communication, drinking water supply, drainage and sewerage, the BJP questioned about the government's failure to take necessary steps and discharge their responsibilities.

Stating that the people had high expectation from the Khandu government, the party urged the government to take up necessary steps for proper uprgadation of power infrastructure, water supply and other amenities for the welfare of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
