BJP finalises 3 names for Maharashtra Legislative Council elections

New Delhi, Sept 01 (UNI) The BJP today finalised its list of three candidates for the forthcoming Maharashtra Legislative Council elections.

The names of Nitin Gadkari (Nagpur), Srikant Joshi (Marathwada) and Chandrakant Patil (Pune) have been approved for contesting the elections to the Maharashtra State Legislative Council, said a BJP spokesman.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the BJP Central Election Committee headed by party chief Rajnath Singh this afternoon.

Names recommended by the Maharashtra State Election Committee were approved in the meeting, the spokesman added.

While Mr Gadkari is the BJP state chief, Mr Joshi is the sitting member of the council.
