Bihar govt sanctions Rs 1,302 cr for flood-relief
Patna, Sep 1 (UNI) The Bihar cabinet has sanctioned Rs 1,302 crore for carrying out relief operations in the flood-hit areas, said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today.
After flagging off 11 trucks laden with fodder to the flood- affected areas, Mr Kumar told newspersons here that the government was committed to providing relief to the victims.
'' The Centre-allotted foodgrains and kerosene oil are being distributed among the victims,'' he iterated.
The Central assistance would be finalised once the teams submit their reports after reviewing the flood-affected areas,'' he added.
He thanked Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal and also Chief Minister of Chhatishgarh Raman Singh for sending in relief operations.
