Airbus plane wing nicks hangar at Bangkok airport
BANGKOK Sep 1 (Reuters) A new Airbus A380 "super jet" sustained slight damage after its wingtip nicked an aircraft hangar at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport today , Thai Airways International said.
The 525-seat double-decker aircraft, carrying hundreds of VIPs, businessmen and journalists, was preparing to take off for the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai on a demonstration flight.
None of the passengers were injured in the accident but the flight was delayed for repair for about an hour, Thai Airways President Aphinan Sumanaserani told reporters.
Thai Airways has ordered six of the new A380 planes from European planemaker Airbus for delivery from 2009.
