Stone pelting fair of Himachal Pradesh

Champavat, Aug 31: The Bagwal fair of ancient Kholi Khand Duba of Champavat district is famous for its large-scale stone pelting by two rival teams to appease goddess Devi Dhura.

This festival is being celebrated since the time of Mahabharat and people have great belief in it. The priest of the temple starts the festival with the religious ceremonies and ends it by offering blood with a message of brotherhood.
