Modhwadia flays Modi for accepting memento as Lord Krishna
Ahmedabad, Aug 31 (UNI) Opposition Leader in Gujarat state assembly Arjun Modhwadia today flayed Chief Minister Narendra Modi and two of his ministers, Purushottam Rupala and Saurabh Patel, for accepting mementos describing them as Lord Krishna, Yudhishthir and Arjun respectively at a public function held recently at Vallabhipur town of Bhavnagar district.
''By equating himself with Lord Krishna, Mr Modi has hurt the feelings of Hindu community, especially at a time when the festival of Janmashtami is round the corner,'' Mr Modhwadia told mediapersons here today.
''Mr Modi's craze for publicity knows no bound these days. From the wrappers of condoms to children's school bags and chocolates, Mr Modi has his photograph pasted everywhere. For accepting mementos as Lord Krishna and other legendary characters of Mahabharata, Mr Modi and two of his ministers should tender a public apology,'' Mr Modhwadia said.
Mr Modhwadia also criticised Opposition Leader L K Advani for equating himself with Lord Rama by having his photograph alongside the poster of Lord Rama. ''Mr Advani and Mr Modi are 'Guru-Chela' (teacher-student). By equating himself with Lord Rama, Mr Advani has also played with the feelings of Hindus,'' Mr Modhwadia added.
